Humans in black and white

Images in black and white have a certain quality about them that color images lack. The simplicity of just two colors with millions of shades between them appear to get rid of the sensory distraction a multitude of colors in a picture provide and focus exclusively on the subject itself, making the image stark, simple and striking. As if all the pretense of colorful objects are muted and only the best angles and depth of the image are left to make that image something special.

Such images bring out the incredible contrast that each color pigment and light shade leave behind in the image to sometimes create an effect of austerity, sometimes one of depth, sometimes one of melancholy and sometimes one of nostalgia.

This collection of images have been shot in places all around the world including in Kolkata, London, Scotland, Tuscany, Madrid, Puerto Rico, France, Vancouver, New York and Boston. The only theme that ties togther these collection is that these images are black and white, which means each image tells its own story.
